The commissioners will be available to respond in a panel discussion to questions that have been submitted by participants when they register in the morning. 103. AFC - A Community Based Living Option

104. Providing Clinical Support in Shared Living

This workshop will present an overview of clinical service delivery from assessments to implementation of intervention supports.

 

105. Navigating the Options of Guardianship and Alternatives

Sweeping changes were made to guardianships in Massachusetts after the adoption of the Uniform Probate Code which took effect on July 1, 2009. Learn what options are available in guardianship and what is involved in getting and maintaining a guardianship under the new code.

Three providers from across the state will share their experiences. This is an open forum for discussion.

A discussion with individuals, providers and family members regarding the dynamic of changing roles in each Shared Living arrangement.

This workshop will highlight the Awareness and Action Project. It will also give brief demonstrations and techniques used during the training process on how to educate person's with disabilities about different types of abuse. This presentation will be done in a Powerpoint format with some group discussion.

Benefits are rarely available to anyone who is not an employee of a company or corporation. For the past two years, Ed Sweeney has been developing a program for organizations such as NAFCO in order to offer care providers non-medical life insurance and a host of other products not usually available to non-employees. They include: cancer, critical illness, and Accident and Identity theft. Humana, one of the largest and most respected providers of health insurance, is offering the insurance products and other benefit plans. This workshop will discuss insurance options available, cost associated and how to enroll.
